They did a fantastic job that we are back to have two more costumes altered.  They deliver on-time and care about their work. My daughter tried on the dress and we received an immediate estimate and agreed to the price. You really can't argue with talent and skill. Altering is not just cutting and sewing. "I got my wedding dress alterations done here and they are fantastic! So meticulous and detail oriented. Keep in mind that my dress had very delicate beading which they had to remove and replace in order to get it to fit perfectly, and the end result was amazing! He also wouldn't do what I asked of him, this place should be shut down. I will probably put in a complaint with the bbb. I asked him to hem my dress and he said if I lost 5 lbs the dress would be longer which is b.s so he refused to even be of service. He was so rude I should have slapped him. If I'm paying you you do what I say!  Now I have 2 weeks to get my dress tailored by someone else in time for my wedding. I could have searched for someone else the first time I came into the shop. "I bought a wedding dress online through a sample sale- without even trying it on! When it arrived i thought it fit great, with the exception of needing to get it hemmed about a foot or so. 

I called to make an appointment and they were able to fit me in right away. When i arrived, everyone was friendly. They measured me and pinned away. My dress was delicate lace on top and tulle material on the bottom, with multiple layers, so it wasn't an easy job. I was done in less than an hour and they set me up for a follow up appointment within 2 weeks! 

They ended up making some alterations to my top- if i though it fit good before, after they were done with it it fit EVEN better! i was so pleased with it. They did additional work on the train and i was out the door in 30 minutes. 

My last appointment was within 3 weeks of the last. For the final fitting, it my dress looked and felt amazing! They did such an amazing job and was so happy with how everything turned out! For such a big job and it being a wedding dress, of course i was nervous about my dress turning out less than perfect. I am so happy i ended up coming to this place. Well worth it! And the customer service is unbeatable. I will definitely be coming back here for ANY alterations in the future."

"Way overpriced...like $40 for a $20 sundress. I ended up with a $500 charge for items collectively totaling $300. The majority of the items still drag on the floor (hemmed without shoes on).  I went back once to have certain items redone & they're still not right. One dress is completely ruined & I'm unable to wear it. I have a friend who had dress pants tailored & the hem continues to fall out. When confronted they blamed his dry cleaner. Bottom line this place ruined my clothes & gladly overcharged for their services."

"If you care about your dollar, please don't go to this guy. He takes advantage of your situation and rips you off. I recently got a suit altered by this guy. He charged by $239 where as other tailors in the area charges $100 for the exact thing. Of course, I am an idiot because I did my research after I got ripped off. He portrays himself as a very high end tailor  but he is a Mexican tailor for god sake. Talking about God, he has a big picture of Jesus in his store but he rips people in the name of Lord. 
If I were you, I would go to this other Korean guy a few exists away. He does a much better job and charges way less."

"We were recommended this place for my wedding dress alterations and it was extremely upsetting to say the least. I've been waiting to write a review until I felt calm enough to do it. First of all it's a hole in the wall, dirty, dingy and not kept up. The women that worked there were nice enough but spoke very little English. My mother is Puerto Rican and speaks Spanish fluently so they hit it off right away. The man who was supposed to alter my dress showed up 15 mins late. When he got there told me to put the dress on that that he could show me what he could do and if I didn't like it then ‍. I can only describe it as a hand gesture, basically he didn't care. I went into the tiny, dirty dressing room to try on my brand new wedding dress that I'd just picked up a half an hour before, put it on by myself (because there is not even enough space for two people in there) and came out. I'm standing there in my dress and he completely ignored me while he bragged to my mother about how amazing he was, showing her his yelp reviews for a good 5 mins before he finally addressed me. Then he proceeded to communicate with my mother in Spanish the entire time (as she translated to me, when she could) that he wouldn't do this and he wouldn't do that, meanwhile he's all talk, makes no pinning, tightening, etc so that I can see these so called changes he's telling my mother (in Spanish so I can't understand) that he's going to make. Long story short, at this point I was very frustrated and suggested to my mother that maybe we should go somewhere else. I didn't like the fact that he wouldn't even address me, considering I'm the one that is wearing the dress, much less communicate in a language I could understand. He was a total pig and I would never recommend him to anyone. He really put a sour taste in my mouth and ruined a really important and exciting time for me. If you're getting married I would never recommend him, he doesn't listen, is full of himself, inconsiderate and the place is a dump (the lightening is terrible and the floors are filthy)."

"Worth EVERY penny!! When I first brought my wedding in to Alberto I thought it would be a quick fix, to shorten the straps and add a bustle. He let me know that wouldn't be enough, that I needed close to 5 inches taken out of the top because it was too big. I was very hesitant to approve his work since I wasn't planning on spending so much and didn't know that it was necessary. However, I agreed to the price and when I came back a few weeks later I was in shock. I thought I loved my dress before, and after he tailored the top to fit me perfectly, I could not be happier!!! His work is so articulate and it is impossible to tell that he had to make so many changes out of the top. Cannot recommend enough--you get what you pay for here and I wish I had more to bring in! Not to mention they are so kind and friendly, made me feel so welcome every time I came in. Thank you!!!"

"Unbelievable work. When i came in with my dress I thought I would just need a few small changes, but unfortunately my dress was a mess!

The bottom was unevenly cut 3 inches longer on one side and the top was WAY too big. I also wanted sleeves made for my ceremony. I went in for my first fitting, and by the time i was back for my 2nd fitting i felt like it was a brand new dress.  You could not tell where the alterations were made, he removed and reapplied all of the detail, and the bottom was absolutely perfect.

I brought in fabric and he made my sleeves from scratch. I stood as he pinned it and then sewed it together while i was there, i left and when i came back for the finish product, it looked as if the sleeves were specifically made for that dress, not made as an additional piece.

His prices were VERY Reasonable and quality of work is unbelievable."

"This place is overrated and overpriced! I went into VIP to hem my dress since this place has great reviews. As soon as I walked in there was only one lady working there. I said hi to her and showed her my dress and ask how much would it be to hem my dress. She said $140. I was shocked! It is just a simple hem. It should not cost $140. My dress cost less than alteration. She don't speak English either, it was hard for me to have conversation with her. I found another place and they only charge me $30 for the hem and they even fix my zipper in the back for free. If you want to pay ridiculous price for alteration this is the place. Go to King's alteration in Thousand Oaks if you want better price and better service!"

Of course prices will change depe on what it needed. I come from line of boxers so I have broad shoulders.  I wear a size 46-48 Short jacket!! You can hardly find that. Glad i met this guy."

"I originally found VIP through Yelp. Reading all of the great reviews, and having a need for some tailoring, I gave them my business. My first trip to see VIP was a pleasant experience. Anthony was warm and tremendously helpful. He recommended some tailoring options for a better fit, while allowing my personal tastes. When I went to pick up my trousers a week later, I was less than impressed with the atmosphere. They were aloof and seemed to be very uninterested in providing me with any service at all. After receiving my items I inspected the work. My trousers were hemmed and tailored  well, and the work was above average (just a little tighter on the left leg of the trouser). After a few weeks of use, the alteration quality has held up. So I went back for another round of trousers. Unfortunately, this trip in was a complete disappointment. I did not receive the same type of appointment as before. They took a measure, listened to my personal taste in cuffed trousers, and gave me a date to pick them up. No warmth, no adjustments to the trousers as before, no interest in my satisfaction. Just a cold transaction. The experience was made worse when I was charged $3 more for each trouser than my previous visit, all for less than half the service than I was previously given. I am also not as impressed with the work I brought home this time. Not a dreadful experience, just a disappointing experience. I'll give another tailor my business next time.

We ordered my husbands suit from Victor Valentine suits in England and it arrived organic and needed much love. Alberto turned this beautiful suit into a masterpiece in less an two weeks and for approximately for a great price. He also gave my hubby the perfect pair for cuff links that matched the look, our lives, and the ceremony. It was magnificent and very special to us both.

For my dress, Alberto's seamstress turned a Anthropologie dress into a stunning sexy gown that I fell more in love with. She (I can't remember her name ) added chiffon sleeves, added to the sides so the dress fit my bust just perfectly, added shoulder pads, and added material to the bottom so it was slightly fell to the floor with my heels on. All in less than 3 weeks and for yet another amazing price.

You either get a perfect score or a zero and Alberto absolutely gets a perfect score! He even tweaked my wife's dress a second time, 24 hours before the Emmys!!! Alberto closes at 3 PM on Saturday and even offered to stay late to make it perfect! Any bad reviews you read to here are fictional!

While this Calabasas location is fairly new, VIP Alterations already has a few other locations including Thousand Oaks and Beverly Hills, meaning these guys already know how to take care of clients, are already tested professionals, and have already delivered fantastic results for years. Trust me, this is leaps and bounds better than what you'll get from the tailoring at Nordstrom or Macy's.

To know and appreciate VIP Alterations, you have to know about the man in charge, Alberto. Alberto is an excellent, third-generation tailor with a eye for detail. He had the patience to get my tailoring job (two pairs of pants) just right; I never felt rushed, and he already seemed to know the look I was going after.

And, you read that right earlier, he's a third-generation tailor. His grandfather was trained in Milan, his father and himself in Colombia, and now Alberto is personally training and teaching all of the tailors he hires for VIP Alterations. So, even if he does not do your job personally, trust that he has excellent quality control to keep your job up to his standards.

And, beyond all that, Alberto and his staff treated me with nothing but utmost kindness and professionalism.

"They did a very nice job on the two sport coats I needed resized. My one-star rating is because of the $430 price tag to alter my two sport coats. I should have said no thanks after the fitting when they wrote up the ticket. I normally buy my suits, slacks and sport coats in the Garment District in Los Angeles, and use a tailor there. I didn't want to drive to Los Angeles for these two coats. Based on the glowing Yelp reviews I was excited to try VIP. I think I probably would have paid about $60-$100 in L.A. for the same alterations.

The alterations also took longer than I expected, I think three weeks. The tailor in L.A. gets stuff done in no more than a week.

Alberto himself was very nice and professional, and the young man who helped me when I picked the coats up was also very nice.

But $430 to alter two sport coats is way too expensive. I won't be using VIP again."

Originally came here to have some cups built into my gown for coverage and support. After finding VIP Alterations on Yelp, and seeing their amazing reviews and photos, I decided they were it! Called to make an appointment, and was able to come in same day, which was wonderful as I needed it done in 4 days. The shop is adorable, clean, and well decorated. The owners were so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They are 3rd generation tailors, which is comforting, and so impressive. It really takes great amount of skill to do this type of work, and I knew I was in the best hands!

Upon putting on my gown, I was shown that the tiniest bit of gathering at the waistline on my gown was adding an inch to my silhouette. Doesn't seem like a lot, but when it was pinned to mimic the alteration, it took 5 pounds off my body immediately!!!! It was incredible that this small adjustment, that I didn't even realize I needed,  could make me look slimmer! That is a great value  for  ALL  WOMEN! Who doesn't want to look 5 pounds thinner?!?!?

Pricing for  my cups, and the waistline ateration  was extremely fair, I believe under $60. My dress was done on time. Everyone was not only professional, but felt like  family. Just so warm and welcoming.

I would highly recommend VIP Alterations to any aand all looking for the best alterations, not just in town, but in Ventura County. You cannot find this type of talent anywhere. Such a niche trade, especially to find a 3rd generation tailor!

I couldn't be happier with VIP Alterations. We needed a tailor - fast- to alter two pairs of my son's absolutely ginormous high school basketball uniform shorts. Absolutely unwearable at the size he was accidentally given. We were not allowed to have even one aspect of the design or school logo changed. (We barely got permission from the coach to alter them at all, so keeping the design intact was very important.) I was nervous to pick them up just now, but they are PERFECT. And the people there are very sweet. Two pairs of shorts custom altered shorts isn't cheap - but we went to three places- one said it couldn't be done at all, the other was $20 more expensive than VIP. My kid is going to be thrilled, as am I.

"This review is long overdue.  The recent events in my life left me in need of a tailor: I had 1) moved from NYC to an unfamiliar SoCal and 2) recently lost a lot of weight and needed a complete wardrobe overhaul.  I can litter this review with adjective after superfluous adjective to describe how indispensable Alberto is to me, but I think its best illustrated with a couple of stories, so bear with the long review ahead.

The very first time I came to Alberto, I simply needed some jeans hemmed.  He measured me up (I was wearing running shoes at the time) and showed me what he believed to be the appropriate length.  I asked for him to keep it longer, he politely questioned my choice of length, I insisted, and he obliged.  Of course when I tried them on with the correct shoes, they were way too long.  I sheepishly returned to Alberto, let him know that he was right, and that I needed him to shorten it some more.  Of course it was my fault, so I fully expected to be pay again, but Alberto simply grinned and told me he would take care of it free of charge.  I knew I had found my tailor.

January 1st, 2016, yup New Year's Day.  I had recently purchased a Brioni sportcoat that I simply couldn't pass up and was hoping to wear to an event the following evening.   I called the store not expecting it to be open but Alberto picked up (he was doing some end of the year inventory clean up) and told me to come on by.  I thought I just needed the sleeves to be finished, but to my dismay, Alberto shows me that my $4000+ jacket needs a bit more work (see picture).  He is able to take the jacket in to get rid of the ruffling in the back, shorten the hemline, taper the sleeves, and finish the sleeves...all by the next afternoon (and all with impeccable craftsmanship).  Oh, and I should mention that this included installing surgeon's cuffs!  The end result was a sportcoat that fit like a glove.  The next day at the event I received numerous compliments.  One guy asked where I got the jacket, and I replied "Bergdorf by way of Alberto in Thousand Oaks." (gotta give credit where credit is due!).

There is nobody I would trust more with my clothes.  His craftsmanship rivals the best and most expensive tailors I used in Manhattan and his customer service cannot be beat."

"After finding VIP alterations on Yelp a couple of months ago I can't imagine going anywhere else!  I am the biggest procrastinator and they always make sure to have my dresses ready on the day I need it without sacrificing quality.  Every time I go in I feel like family because they are so welcoming.  Try them out...you will not regret it!"

They do a great job.  Prices are a little steep for what I've had done but the work is done well.  If the prices were a little better on a couple of simple alterations I would have given them 5 stars.

Update:  I had them redo a hem and take in a tunic. It was a simple job.  They charged me $110 for these alterations.  I was shocked at the steep price for an easy alteration.  

It came out fine but nothing special and took two weeks.  I'm never going back.

While the work was done fine - the price was way toooo much!  They charged me $196 for  2 suits to be  shortened ($49/piece)- GO ELSEWHERE!! The jackets needed the sleeves shortened and the skirts needed to be hemmed- I had a quick turnaround since I was going out of town for a presentation but was almost a week - but the alternations cost more than the suits - it should have cost around $50 - they may be great for wedding dresses but NOT for other alternations

"Got 3 pairs of paints tailored here because of a recommendation from a colleague at work.  The guy was nice, charismatic, and talented.  I've had my pants for a couple weeks now and they look great.  He was honest when he said that somethings didn't need to be done.  I like someone who will be honest instead of trying to always take your money."

Went in for an alteration consultation, and while the staff were incredibly polite, the man who I'm assuming was owner, is rude, arrogant and frankly doesn't seem that educated in measurements and alterations. Not only did he tell me my dress was too big before zipping me in, but he actually tried to measure things and discuss what he'd alter while I was unbuttoned / unzipped as well. When I mentioned that I wasn't zipped, he said that didn't make a difference... yet suddenly he went from saying it was two sizes too big to a perfect fit.... some tailor. The dress needs a hem and some slight sleeve alterations, yet I was quoted nearly 1,000$ and told it would take 4 fitting sessions. Even if he was a competent tailor, that is absolutely ridiculous for what was required. Save yourself the gas and go somewhere else.

"Alberto WOWed me instantly. I had a quick "pants ripped" emergency (lol) at work and needed it done right away. I called and a lady told me to come in, it will take a few minutes. Came in and left within five minutes and Alberto didn't allow me to pay ANYTHING. He told me the service is on us!! Mind you, I've never been here, but with that gesture he has my business for a lifetime! I work at Audi, so all the suites at work will be coming to Alberto for tailoring.

I am a short, relatively fit male and unfortunately clothing stores rarely offer sizes that match my body type.  At the same time, finding a tailer that is both of good value and is open on weekends is a bit of a chore.  VIP Alterations exceeds these expectations and I have had 100% success rate with them.  

The owner will not price gouge you like some other tailers will; if a refitting will not work (they have to work within the laws of physics after all), they will not attempt to upsell you on "guesswork".  I have found both honesty and efficiency matched with promptness and recommend that others try them out.  You will not be disappointed.

"Hands down, best service I've ever seen. I didn't even have an appointment, but Alberto took time out of his day to work with me. My dress was from a thrift store and too small, and I wasn't aware that someone had previously taken it in to be two sizes smaller than necessary. I found VIP Alterations on Instagram. Thank god i did! I already had a dress but ANOTHER seamstress ruined it. So I had to go buy another dress 2 months before my wedding. I brought it to VIP and I wish I would of started here with my first dress. The attention to detail that everyone here puts on your garment is amazing! They check multiple ways of how to lay the fabric on you to find the best outcome. I could not be anymore happier and excited to wear my dress. If you are hesitating where to go, DONT! "I just had the most incredible experience here. For my bday I got an outdoor furniture set and the zipper puller thing fell off after I washed the cushion. I went to my normal cleaner/alterations place and they wanted to charge me $45 to replace zipper and said it would take over a week. The guy was so smug, I walked out. I called VIP Alterations and they said they'd do it for $25. I went in and the guy took the cushion cover, opened a little box and found a replacement zipper puller (whatever it's called), spent 5 minutes attaching it and boom handed it to me no charge. What?! Who does that? I insisted on giving him something but he refused saying when I had some actual work for him, then he'd charge me. I never going anywhere else for my alterations. Everyone there was so pleasant and nice, it was a breath of fresh air."

Oh by the way, if they can't handle your dress they'll say it's bad material like 100 times

This place is pretty far away from me but they are worth the travel. I have had two suits tailored here on two separate occasions and they have done an exceptional job on both. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly. They really seem to take pride in their work which is comforting when you are handing over an expensive suit for someone to alter.

"Quality work"

Took a few dresses to be shortened and it took them THREE weeks to do so. When I got them home, I tried them on and I unfortunately need to have them hemmed again, as they are far too long (despite me taking my shoes to the appointment for them to get the proper measurements). I need the ASAP, so I will need to go elsewhere to get it done properly and in a timely manner, I cannot be waiting that long to get my items back (summer will be over). It also cost an absolute fortune, I could almost buy two more new dresses for the price of the alterations. Needless to say I won't be returning here again.

Horrible does not describe our experience. Not only is the owner extremely rude, we paid over $700 for dress alterations that were not completed. His response to everything was "it's the dress". Then why charge to fix it and not do anything. 3 fittings and 2 of them are cancelled because of power being turned off. They have no clue of your wedding date and want us to come for a final fitting 12 hours before the wedding and go get the dress steam cleaned the morning of the wedding somewhere else.. Do your homework people, do not listen to Bella bridal take your dress where they take pride in the work. They have ruined a $3000.00 gown that is still half worked on. Shame on you for ruining a brides happiest time of her life.

Alberto and his team go above beyond to get you exactly what you want. I walked into his shop today around 11am with an emergency and bigger job on a sports coat I needed altered. He called me at 7:30pm and it fits great - I really needed it before tomorrow because I'll be at a conference all weekend long. Life saver and amazing quality work. I'll never go anywhere else.

Lost $150.00 on 2 pair of jeans that are too short. My husband had two pair of jeans hemmed at VIP Alterations. Both pair where altered too short in the back . On one pair of jeans one leg was an inch shorter than the other leg!!!! My husband called they denied this without even seeing them(I took pictures) then reluctantly told him to come back. They said they could fix the leg that was an inch shorter(really???) Well, they did something??? Now that leg is all crinkled and still too short. My husband wears nice jeans most of the time for business. He cannot wear these they look awful!!!We lost 100.00 dollars on the cost of the jeans and 50.00 on alterations. They should pay the $150.00. We have to buy new jeans and have them altered OBVIOUSLY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!  THE WORST!!!!!

Originally my wedding dress was about 5 sizes too big. I was so nervous I wouldn't get it to fit correctly because it was so large. I came into vip and the staff was very friendly. Alberto was very nice & him & his staff made my dress fit like a glove! It came out perfect and it could not have fit me any better. Highly recommend.
